The LWMGC Governance Committee is a group of concerned residents of Laguna Woods Village. Our goal is to foster open communication between Laguna Woods Village residents and the Boards and Committees which govern Laguna Woods Village. We believe that the governance of our community requires sound financial principles, open communication, and long-term planning.
The strategy to achieve our goal is to enlist fellow residents to provide and share community ideas and to work as a citizen oversight of the numerous boards and committees that make policy in our community.
We believe that open dialog, compromise, and transparency are key to fostering Boards and Committees that function efficiently and serve the best interests of our entire community.
Greater resident awareness and participation using shared knowledge and open dialog will inherently benefit our entire community by enhancing our quality of life, the amenities that we all enjoy and the value in our homes.
The Governance Committee stands ready to assist all Boards and their underlying Committees in maintaining open lines of communication by participating in Board and Committee meetings which are open to the public to better understand the concerns of all residents, Boards and Committee members.

Respectfully,
LWMGC – Governance Committee

We want to thank everyone who contributed in the effort to squelch the golf fee increase. Because of your efforts, and the collection of over 2,800 signatures the proposal was sent back to committee. We need to stay vigilant on this issue.

The fee to play 18 holes of golf at Laguna Woods Golf Course will be increased to $20 January 1, 2023 for all residents. In 2019 the fee to play golf at our golf course for a resident was $11.00. In October, when it is ratified, the fee will raised to $20.00. This represents a 81% increase in four short years. (2019 - $11.00, 2021 - $16.00 and 2023 - $$20.00)
An example of our golf fees at another 81% increase looks like: (2023 - $20.00, 2025 - $27.00, 2027 - $36.00). Be part of the solution, voice your rights as a proud homeowner of Laguna Woods Village.
