the 11th ANNUAL LWV MEMORIAL
GOLF TOURNAMENT & DINNER

                  held  Saturday May 18, 2019

This popular event is held to remember our past members, and to raise money for The Foundation of Laguna Woods Village.  The day started at 10:30 check-in where players received a commemorative bag tag, golf shirt and hat, goody bag and lunch. A $20 Super Ticket allowed players access to the putting contest, use of a substitute long drive provided by the Irvine Valley College Golf Team, a mulligan, raffle tickets and entry into a $500 cash drawing.  After play there was a sit down dinner catered by Jolanda with open bar in Clubhouse 2.  There were many varied raffle and silent auction items available to bid on including rounds of golf at Strawberry Farms and Monarch Beach, exquisite handcrafted furniture by Frank Irving, original paintings by residents of the Village, golf memorabilia, and many beautifully appointed gift baskets.  A lot of people walked away with some great items all donated by various sponsors and supporters.

The winners of the golf tournament were given cash prizes after the dinner.

Congratulations to all the winners!

We want to acknowledge the many people who made this event possible.  This
is the third year we have partnered with the Village of Laguna Woods and Brian Gruner, Director of Recreation, along with his able assistants Jackie Kupfert and Becky Jackson.  All were very much involved in making this event a huge success.  And a special thanks go to Tom McCray and his Pro Shop crew who did a great job throughout the day keeping things moving through all three golf courses.  We also  thank Lorraine Tagliaferri, Annette Soule, Pat Thatcher-Santoro and Judy Murad, along with many other women and men who helped with everything from check-in
to cleaning up at the end.

We also had an exceptional team from the LWMGC including John Soule, Paul Santoro, David Schmidli, Sam Murad, David Lilyquist, Dennis Boudreau, Ron Kula, Ron Gordon and Bob Napack.

Oh, and over $35,000 was raised for The Foundation of Laguna Woods Village!   Job well done to all who participated.
